Best AI Visibility Tools in 2026 (AEO / GEO Tracking)

AI visibility tools measure whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews mention your brand when buyers ask questions in your category. The best ones in 2026 are Profound for enterprise, Scrunch and Peec for mid-market, Otterly and Rankscale for small budgets, and the Semrush and Ahrefs add-ons for existing customers. This guide compares nine of them. The same software answers to AEO visibility tracker, GEO tracker and LLM SEO tool; the label changes, the job does not.

What These Tools Do

Every tool here works the same way at the core. You give it a list of prompts your buyers might type into an AI assistant. It runs them against one or more engines on a schedule, records which brands are named, which URLs are cited, and how each brand is described, then charts that over time and against competitors. The differences are in which engines are covered, how many prompts you can run, which markets you can run them in, and what the tool helps you do about the result.

Whether you call this AEO tooling, GEO tooling or LLM optimization tooling, it is the same category. We explain the vocabulary in AEO vs GEO and the underlying practice in our answer engine optimization guide. This post is only about the tools. Pricing was checked on each vendor's site in September 2026; where a vendor does not publish prices, the entry says so.

Disclosure: we build Mavek, so weigh that. It is first because it is ours.

1. Mavek

What it is: Mavek is an AI marketing platform for founders and lean teams. Its AI visibility tracker monitors brand mentions and citations across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, by market, next to the SEO agent that crawls, drafts, publishes and tracks rankings.

Engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Results refresh automatically every Monday, and you can trigger a refresh by hand.

Who it suits: Teams that do not want a standalone dashboard. The same platform that shows a competitor being recommended can write and publish the page that changes the answer, with a human approving each step.

Pricing: Plans from $125 per month, as of September 2026. The tracker is included in the platform rather than sold separately.

Where it falls short: It is new. Engine coverage is narrower than Profound or Rankscale, results refresh weekly rather than daily, and if all you need is a measurement dashboard, several tools below do that job for less. Read the AI visibility page for what the tracker records and Mavek vs Profound for the honest comparison.

2. Profound

What it is: The most established enterprise AI visibility platform. Daily tracking across the widest engine set, citation analysis down to the URL, conversation and prompt research, and agent-style features that draft actions from the data.

Engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Claude on the Enterprise plan. The free trial covers ChatGPT only, with 10 prompts run once.

Who it suits: Enterprise brands with a team to work the data and budget for a contract.

Pricing: Not published. The pricing page shows a free trial and a custom Enterprise tier behind a demo, as of September 2026. Third-party sites quote a range of figures; treat them as unverified.

Where it falls short: Cost and fit. A founder-led company pays for depth it will not use, and Profound measures rather than executes.

3. Peec AI

What it is: A Berlin-built AI search analytics tool with a reputation for clean reporting: visibility score, share of voice, citations and sentiment per prompt, with competitor benchmarking and country-level tracking.

Engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini are named on the site, with a choice of three models per plan from a larger list.

Who it suits: Marketing teams that want a dashboard the whole team can read, with unlimited seats.

Pricing: Starter at $95 per month with 50 prompts, one project and one country. Pro at $245 with 150 prompts, two projects and three countries. Advanced at $495. Annual billing takes 15 percent off, as of September 2026.

Where it falls short: Three models per plan means you choose, and the country cap on Starter is one. It reports, it does not act. Full review in our Peec AI review.

4. Scrunch AI

What it is: A mid-market AI visibility platform with generous prompt allowances, citation tracking, a prompt manager, and page audits that show how AI crawlers read your site.

Engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, and Meta on every public plan.

Who it suits: Teams that want to run hundreds of prompts and need the page audit side, not just the mention count.

Pricing: repriced in late September 2026. Core at $250 per month with 125 prompts, four engines and five users; Agency Core at $500 with three brand workspaces and unlimited seats; custom Enterprise with nine engines and AXP. Details in our Scrunch AI review.

Where it falls short: The entry price is three times Peec's, and the extra prompt volume is only worth it if you will use it. Full review in our Scrunch AI review.

5. AirOps

What it is: AirOps is an AI content workflow platform first and a visibility tool second. You build content pipelines (research, draft, optimize, publish) on a task-based plan, and the AI search insights sit on top so the workflows can respond to what the engines say.

Engines: ChatGPT only on Solo. Insights across seven or more answer engines, including OpenAI, Google and Perplexity, on Pro and Enterprise.

Who it suits: Content operations teams that want the workflow engine and are happy for visibility data to be one input to it.

Pricing: Not published. The pricing page lists Solo, Pro and Enterprise with task limits but no dollar figures, as of September 2026.

Where it falls short: If you only want tracking, this is the wrong shape of product, and the task-based billing takes work to forecast. Full review in our AirOps review.

6. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

What it is: Semrush's standalone AI visibility product: tracked prompts with daily AI rankings, brand mentions, competitor analysis, prompt research and an AI readiness site audit. Also bundled into Semrush One plans.

Engines: ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity.

Who it suits: Teams already paying for Semrush who want AI mentions in the same reporting stack.

Pricing: $99 per month billed annually for 25 prompts and one domain. The Starter (SEO plus AI Search) bundle is $199 per month with 50 prompts, as of September 2026.

Where it falls short: Twenty-five prompts is tight for a serious brand, and it is a reporting layer in a suite built for Google. See Mavek vs Semrush for the wider comparison.

7. Ahrefs Brand Radar

What it is: Ahrefs' AI visibility add-on. Its distinctive feature is a large organic prompt index, so you can see mentions across a broad set of real prompts rather than only the ones you define. Custom prompt packages are sold separately.

Engines: Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Grok.

Who it suits: Ahrefs customers who want mentions and citations next to their backlink and keyword data.

Pricing: Brand Radar AI starts at $199 per month as an add-on, on top of an Ahrefs plan (Lite is $129 per month). Custom prompt packages start at $50 per month, as of September 2026.

Where it falls short: The real entry cost is the plan plus the add-on, and covering every engine adds more. Like the rest of Ahrefs, it reports.

8. Otterly.AI

What it is: A lightweight tracker with the lowest published entry price in the category. Prompt monitoring, brand and link citation tracking, and on higher plans API and MCP access.

Engines: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot on every plan. Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini are paid add-ons.

Who it suits: Small brands, freelancers and anyone who wants a first read before committing real budget.

Pricing: Lite at $29 per month with 15 prompts. Standard at $189 with 100 prompts. Premium at $489 with 400 prompts. Annual billing is 15 percent less, as of September 2026.

Where it falls short: Fifteen prompts is a taste, not a program, and add-on engines push the price up fast.

9. Rankscale

What it is: A tracker built around wide engine coverage and flexible scheduling, from hourly to monthly, across all regions on every plan. Credits are spent per answer rather than per prompt.

Engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, DeepSeek, Mistral, Claude, Grok, Copilot and more.

Who it suits: Teams that want to watch many engines and refresh often without an enterprise contract.

Pricing: Pro at $99 per month ($84 annual) for up to 4,800 answers a month. Growth at $385 ($327 annual). Enterprise at $780 ($663 annual), as of September 2026.

Where it falls short: Credit-based billing takes arithmetic to compare with prompt-based plans, and the reporting is less polished than Peec's.

What to Look For

Engines covered. ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews are the two that matter for most buyers. Perplexity and Gemini next. Beyond that, only pay for engines your buyers actually use. Nine engines you do not need is not better than the three you do.

Prompt volume. Most brands need 30 to 80 well-chosen prompts, not 700. Count the prompts you would genuinely track before you compare plans on this number.

Markets. AI answers differ by country. If you sell in the UAE, Australia and India, a tool that only runs prompts from the US is measuring the wrong thing. Check the country cap per plan, not just whether markets are "supported".

Citation vs mention. A mention is your brand being named. A citation is your URL being used as a source. They are different signals and you want both reported separately, because you can be cited without being recommended and recommended without being cited.

Competitor benchmarking. Your own visibility score means little on its own. The useful number is share of voice against the three or four names that show up alongside you.

Price against action. Every tool here will show you a gap. Ask what you will do with it. If the answer is "write and publish the pages that close it", a tool that connects to that work, or a platform that does the work, saves the cost of a second product.

What These Tools Do Not Do

No tracker changes what the engines say. Visibility improves when you are cited, and citation comes from clear, well-structured pages, third-party mentions, and being in the indexes the engines read. For the last point, Bing matters more than it used to; our IndexNow setup guide covers the fastest route in. For the pages themselves, the generative engine optimization guide is the place to start. And if your problem is Google rankings rather than AI answers, you want the best AI SEO tools list instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an AI visibility tool?

An AI visibility tool measures whether, and how, your brand appears in answers from AI engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. It runs a set of prompts on a schedule, records which brands are mentioned or cited, and reports share of voice, sentiment and competitor position. The category is also called an AEO visibility tracker, a GEO tool or an LLM optimization tool.

What is the difference between AEO tools and GEO tools?

In practice the tools are the same. AEO (answer engine optimization) and GEO (generative engine optimization) are two names for optimizing to be cited in AI-generated answers. Some vendors prefer one term, some the other. We break down the vocabulary in our AEO vs GEO guide, but do not let the label decide the purchase.

What is the best AI visibility tool in 2026?

For enterprise budgets with a team to act on the data, Profound. For mid-market teams, Scrunch or Peec. For a first read under $100 a month, Otterly, Rankscale or the Semrush toolkit. For founders who want the tracking connected to the SEO work that changes the answer, Mavek, with the caveat that its tracker covers five engines and refreshes weekly.

Do I need an AI visibility tool if I already track rankings?

Rank trackers cannot see inside ChatGPT. When an AI assistant recommends a competitor, no click reaches your analytics and no rank changes. The only way to know is to ask the engines directly, on a schedule, and record the answers. That is what these tools do.

How many prompts do I need to track?

Fewer than vendors suggest. Most brands find 30 to 80 prompts cover the questions buyers actually ask in their category. Start with the questions your sales team hears, add the comparison and alternative queries, and expand only when the data shows a gap.

Can these tools improve my AI visibility, or only measure it?

Most only measure. A few, including AirOps and Mavek, connect the measurement to content and SEO workflows that change the answer over time. Improving visibility still comes down to being cited: clear pages, structured answers, third-party mentions, and being in the indexes the engines read.

Want to know what ChatGPT says about you today?

Mavek asks the questions your buyers ask, shows you who gets recommended, and can write and publish the pages that change the answer.
